C. EMPLOYMENT THROUGH THE AGES

As can be seen from the employment statistics, only about a quarter of the village's working population work in the village today.  Among the present 'home industries' can be listed the following:- fabric designer, home interior designer, wood turner, computer operators and photographer.  there is also a fruit farm which provides some seasonal work.  Agricultural activity continues to play an important role within the community.

Unemployment in the Parish is currently lower than the national regional average and only 4 males and 6 females were recorded as seeking work (5.3% of the working population).  43% of the population are in full or part time work, 34% are retired and 12% in full time education.
